Webinar Information
Perimenopause is the period of a woman's life where she is at greatest risk for mood changes, depression, anxiety, and suicide. Yet, despite this profound mental health challenge faced by 50% of humans, the psychiatric sequelae of perimenopause remain misunderstood and undertreated. In this workshop, you’ll be provided with:
· an understanding of the perimenopause - from the nomenclature to the endocrine changes, and the physical and psychological changes
· an understanding of the psychiatric sequelae of this life transition
· guidance on assessment for perimenopausal depression, both questions to ask and measures to use
· a summary of the research on prescribing (both MHT and psychotropic drugs) for perimenopausal mood and anxiety presentations
· guidance about how to approach perimenopausal mood conditions from a psychological therapy standpoint
This workshop is ideal for all health professionals who work with women aged 35 through 55; especially psychologists, general practitioners and psychiatrists. Join us for an evening of education in women’s health, delivered with humour and a genuine passion to educate and inform.
