Susanna Stefano is a Registered Psychologist who has worked across both public and private health sectors. Experienced with clients of all ages and from diverse backgrounds, she is a warm and open-minded clinician who strives to provide gender and neuro-affirming care. Susanna also ensures that the focus of sessions is closely tied to the client’s current needs. She has clinical skills in the areas of anxiety, panic disorder, depression, phobias, eating and sleeping difficulties, perfectionism, grief, loss, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Susanna has a preference for Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), since she believes that this approach can help clients to detach from unhelpful thoughts, realign with their values, and choose meaningful actions that can reduce suffering. Susanna is also skilled at providing other evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Exposure-Therapy, depending on the client’s preferences and psychological concerns.
Susanna completed a double major B.A. in Art History and Philosophy before switching career direction to Psychology. She completed the Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Melbourne. Her Master’s thesis explored whether high-intensity aerobic exercise could improve Exposure-Therapy outcomes for PTSD. Susanna is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a Medicare provider.
Susanna’s hours are:
